  1. The first and the third are working really well. The second and fourth don't give off that creepy vibe that I think you are going for. Maybe try playing with your shutter speed and lighting. That will defiantly give you some results. :)

  2. I have to agree with christine, the second and fourth don't really creep me out as much as the fist and third. Try going to a grave yard! That would be really creepy!

  3. for some odd reason i think you should try and watch mario bava movies and try to get some references.
the hallway pic might look better with more contrast.

  4. I like the idea for your book but I still think that the images aren't quite giving off the vibe that you want them to. They do give off a sense of curiosity to me but it's not because they are really scary looking to me, it's because they are kind of blury and unidentifiable. Keep playing around and you will have a breakthrough eventually! Think of what things are scary and spark curiosity in you and try taking pictures of those things.

  5. I think this could be a really great idea. I think the strongest image to me would be the first image. The third image, is the second strongest. :) I think maybe if you played with lighting, cropping, etc. it could be really beautiful, in a creepy kind of way. :)

  6. I agree with Christine. Play with shutter speed and contrast to make the pictures I little more creepy. You don't necessarily need a person in the photo to make it scary and make us wonder what's going on. The first photo is your strongest so far. I can't wait to see where you go with this series!

  7. Overall I think that you have great idea!! The previous people made some good points, but you may also may want to look at some tools within Photoshop to make the person look more like a ghost and more mysterious. The one I recommend is the blur tool. Select only the person within the shot and apply the blur tool to that person. That way it will make the person very mysterious and ghostly without affecting the rest of the photo.

  8. I really like your idea and I think either way you go cheesy horror or real horror can work really way. Try not to get to cliche with what you do in this.

  9. Hey!
The idea is awesome and the photos are really creepy! My favorite is the one with the red door because it doesn't really give you any information, which to me is scary! Great job so far!

  10. very cool idea. maybe try some slow shutter speed shots with the person moving a little bit to get a ghostly look. it may work out for you.

  11. Maybe you should ask Marvin Gaye what's going on. Just kidding! I love your idea of making people curious. I am not sure you should have every photo blurry, but maybe an object in the photo.

  12. Good feedback above--- They all have good points--try it all!

Your images look strangely pixelated. Is it the format that you are uploading to the blog?

I do not think for your idea, that pixilation will work in your favor. Use a good camera if you can. And get off campus.

The red one is strongest because it is not totally clear what is happening or where you are. Try more like that. Darker spaces, one light source, and look at scary film stills!

This is good practice--Don't be discouraged, you will get this, your close. I can feel it.

  13. i agree with alex. working with a longer shutter can help you achieve the "creepy" look you are going for.
also, keep "hinting" at things. maybe keeping the viewer guessing can work to your advantage?

  14. These are some really interesting images. I liked the one at the top the best (with the red door). It seems to be the strongest, to me, and convey what you are really looking at doing.
